July 28th 2019 – Lake Champlain Ticonderoga, NY | New Hampshire Bass Federation Summer Open

We had another great event at Lake Champlain out of Ticonderoga, NY. 33 teams came out in hopes of taking the trophy for our Summer Open event. Lake Champlain has been a go to for the New Hampshire Bass Federation for many years as the event site for our Summer Open and many of our anglers circle this one on the calendar as a favorite. Our Summer Open is a two day event where anglers hope to bring in their best 8 bass each day. The best 16 fish at the end of it all will take home trophies and prize money. We also highlight lunker largemouth and lunker smallmouth on both days to which teams are awarded prize money.

Day one brought sun, heat, and plenty of bass to the scales at weigh in. The team of Rob Messenger and John Levesque led the charge on day one bringing an impressive bag of Lake Champlain Largemouth Bass to the scales at a weight of 30.83. Rob and John also took lunker largemouth honors on Day 1 with a 5.43 largemouth. Josh Cotier and Jamie Samatis found themselves in second place with 29.88 lbs after their long run back to the scales. Local favorites Bryan Labelle and Adam Dunkling of Vermont took 3rd with 29.73. The team of Greg Allen and Robert Simea sat in 4th place with their weight of 29.06, and in the last money spot in 5th place was the team of Rick Landry and Killian Kilroy with 27.89. Lunker Smallmouth on Day 1 went to the team of Bill Lentine and Derek Shibles with a strong 4.34 smallmouth!

Day two brought a little more wind which would make things a bit more interesting for teams that chose to leave the Ticonderoga area and venture into the northern stretches of Lake Champlain. When the scales closed after our 2:00 weigh in it were the locals that took the top prize home; congratulations to Brian Labelle and Adam Dunkling who drove that beautiful Phoenix all over the lake to bring in another impressive bag of 30.75, for a total weight of 60.48! Anchoring that bag was our Day 2 Lunker Largemouth tipping the scales at 5.46 lbs. In 2nd place was the team of Greg Allen and Robert Simea who brought in 28.70 lbs bringing their two day total to 57.76. In third were Rob Messenger and John Levesque who brought 26.85 lbs to the scales bringing their two day weight to 57.68. Our 4th place team was Luke Musto and Corky Dildorengo (sitting in 7th after day one) with a bag of 28.46 lbs bringing their total to 55.20. Our last money spot in 5th place was captured by the team of Rob Pepe and Scott Garrison (sitting in 10th on day one) who brought a monster bag of 30.75 lbs bringing their two day total 54.62 lbs. Lunker Smallmouth honors on day two went to the team of Mark Miner and Joe Perez who were one of the few teams that made the run north bringing back a smallmouth weighing 4.16 lbs.

Great job to all of our teams and congratulations again to our money winners and lunker winners. The New Hampshire Bass Federation would like to thank the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Ticonderoga for all of their support and help to the Bass Federation and all of our anglers.
