Team Brown and Chase WIN Student Angler Federation (SAF) New England Challenge Event

The Bass Federation of New Hampshire held its first ever Student Angler Federation (SAF) New England Challenge Event on Lake Winnipesaukee. The weather was absolutely perfect as 6 teams from three New England states set out to compete for a spot at the 2019 SAF Championship. The winning team which happened to be from NH was the team of Brown and Chase who weighed in 4 largemouth for 9.72lbs.

These guys have qualified for the 2019 SAF National Championship. All teams reported great fishing conditions and all weighed in strong limits of both largemouth and smallmouth. This particular event is new for TBFNH and is open to all SAF teams. We hope to continue that annually and grow the program of High School Fishing not only in New Hampshire but in the surrounding New England states as well. The more teams that enter these events, the more qualifying spots to the national championship there are. In addition, the increased participation at these events helps to expand high school bass fishing in New Hampshire.

Acox and Hanatow Start 2018 With a Win

The Bass Federation of New Hampshire opened its 2018 season on Lake Winnipesaukee for the 3rd Annual Mike McNamara Memorial Open. Similar to last year, the spring weather was less than ideal. However, 42 teams showed up to support this great event. While the weather was cold, the bite for many teams was certainly not. The winning team this year was Bruce Acox and Jim Hanatow with a four fish limit of 18.20lb anchored by a 5.26lb smallmouth, WOW! Bruce and Jim reported that most of the day was spent hopping around to different spots where they would catch a critical fish to add to their impressive bag. These guys start off the Trokar Team of the Year race with 200 points, as well as, claiming the Mike McNamara memorial trophy for this season.

Last year’s winners, Rob Messenger and John Lavesque handed off the trophy to Bruce and Jim who will also have their names engraved on it. Congratulations to the rest of the field who also walked away with a sweet payout and some awesome prizes provided by our sponsors.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to fish with us, West Alton Marine for accommodating us for this event, and everyone for volunteers and/or helped in any way.

2018 Trokar Team of the Year

We’re excited to announce the return of Trokar Team of the Year for the 2018 season! Last year we handed out over $3,000 in cash and prizes to the top three places. The more teams that fish with us throughout the year, the higher the payouts get.
